The newly refreshed 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport has been unveiled

The newly refreshed 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport has been unveiled.

The all-new 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport has arrived with even more tweaks and a brand new hybrid engine option. The updated luxury SUV will go on sale later this year and prices will be announced accordingly. Although physically the style didn’t change much from the previous edition, however, it is still significant.

The headlights now have a more angular shape than before and have LED running lights along the lower edges. The front still maintains its simple appearance but this time it features thin vertical inlets on both sides.

A similar change also appeared at the rear where there are two square-shaped lamps on both sides. The bumper completely hides the exhaust pipes from view.

UNDER THE HOOD

The 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport features a new 48-volt mild hybrid powertrain with a belt-integrated starter generator mounted right on the engine. This new hybrid engine pumps out a massive 296 horsepower while the non-hybrid four-cylinder engine pumps out a slightly lower figure of 246 horsepower. Land Rover hasn’t released the fuel efficiency specs for the hybrid option yet.

THE 2020 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY SPORT INTERIOR

Among the numerous tweaks enjoyed in this latest Discovery Sport is the Luxtex upholstery which comes from recycled polyester microfiber. This material looks and feels similar to suede. The company gave this luxury car an interior overhaul as well as high technology to match the luxury it offers. The SUV offers wireless charging capabilities for smartphones as well as USB and 12-volt ports.

A standard 10-inch infotainment display is available as well as a multifunction steering wheel. A smart rear-view mirror which offers video feed from the back with a 50-degree view of everything going on behind the SUV is available as well.

Other driver assistant tech in this SUV includes Steering Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control and Driver Condition monitor.
