Air Hollywood: This is where Hollywood acts all it’s aeroplane movies.

Have you ever watched an American movie that most of the scenes were shot inside an aeroplane? I’m sure you have! Especially scenes where there was a plane crash or terrorist attack or plane hijackers. Movies like “snakes on the plane”, “Soul Plane” etc. Where there was a plane crash and you wonder do these people really buy a whole plane and crash it just to act a single movie? Today TechCapon will take out time to explain how it’s done and what really goes on behind the scenes.
If there’s anything Hollywood loves, it’s aeroplanes and airports. The movie industry has always been fascinated with flying. If you watch the movie “Crazy Rich Asians,” a good portion of the movie was acted in private jets. That’s where Air Hollywood comes in.

Air Hollywood is a studio just like any other movie studio in Hollywood, the only difference is that it is designed just like an aeroplane for acting scenes that normally should be acted inside an aeroplane. It will be too expensive to charter one full Boeing aircraft for 6 months just to shoot a movie. So Air Hollywood designs and customizes its studio using decommissioned and dead aircraft. So let’s take a look at how movies are made in Air Hollywood studio.

Air Hollywood take a decommissioned aircraft, tear it apart and rebuild it into customizable sets. These customizable sets can be redesigned into any setting you want. It can be customized into a First class cabin like the one in “Sex and the City”, business class like the one in “Wolf of Wall Street” and regular low budget ones like in the movie “Bridesmaids.” They even have a separate studio which is always used to act private jet scenes.

AIR HOLLYWOOD

Not only movie producers use Air Hollywood for their video shoots. Over 90% of American music stars use this studio to shoot scenes that look like they’re flying in their private jets. Music videos like “Shut It Down” by Pitbull and “Reminder” by The Weekend. Were all shot in this studio and when you watch the videos you’ll think they were shot in a real private jet. So Akon was right, after all, not all those artists are really as rich as they seem. So when you see them on TV flying private jets with slim girls in bikini. Just know that they’re sitting in a studio somewhere known as Air Hollywood.

After they shoot the video in the studio, they use cameras and other tricks to create clouds in the windows and make it look realistic. Camera movements are usually enough to fake the motion of a plane during takeoff or landing. In order to make it look like a real plane crash, they go an extra mile. To make it look like an air crash, the studio constructs a very big airbag that is placed right under the cabin. With the help of some powerful compressors, these airbags can be rapidly inflated and deflated. This is to really shake the plane and make passengers shout and luggage fall over the place.

If you watch the movie “Lost”, “Snakes on the Plane”, and “Soul Plane.” This is exactly the trick they used to make it look like the plane had hit serious turbulence. The studio is built like a real-life aeroplane. With the push of a button, all the oxygen masks will come down. They also use flashing lights, sound effects and a sound system that the pilot can use to deliver some bad news.

AIR HOLLYWOOD FAKE AIRPORT TERMINAL

Air Hollywood also has its own airport terminal right inside the studio. That means even the airport scenes you see in movies are not even real airports. It’s just a big garage that was customized to look like an Airport. Everything is built to look like a real terminal including the checkout and baggage claim. It also has a flight deck in the studio that looks like a real-life aeroplane cockpit. So next time you watch a movie and you see a pilot pushing some buttons and flying an aeroplane just know that it’s fake and the aeroplane is not going anywhere. Those buttons don’t work and the cockpit is just a studio right inside the garage of Air Hollywood.

Air Hollywood is the largest aviation-themed studio in the world. Like I said before, it has three full aircraft interiors including regular, business class and private jet settings. This studio has attracted most of the biggest directors and producers including Martin Scorcese, Steven Spielberg and Quentin Quarantino. All those movies and music videos are filmed in the same place — Air Hollywood and the studio is dedicated to aviation.
